The City says permits are required for regulated work on City Trees and Private Protected Trees. Its guidance describes private protected categories that include native trees at 12-inch DSH, any tree at 32-inch DSH on single-family or duplex property, and any tree at 24-inch DSH on undeveloped, commercial, industrial or apartment property.
